Folks are often surprised by some part of my identity: I’m a young woman; I’m an ordained clergy person; I’m a member of the GLBTQ community. For many these pieces don’t seem to go together and individuals sometimes question whether I have a “right” to serve within the religious community. While it can be difficult at times, these questions tell me that I’m doing something right. I love helping people think in news ways—prompting them to ask questions, to go deeper, it’s what I’m called to do.
