I have never thought of myself as degraded or disadvantaged for being a woman. Instead I have embraced myself and took advantage of my qualities. Growing up with divorced parents and a sister seven years older than me, I had a lot of time to truly develop myself into the person I wanted to be. I gained responsibility, trustworthiness, and communication skills from an early stage that have influenced me to be the leader I am today. I have had struggles that help me relate to other people and realize that everyone has problems in their life, no one is perfect. I have qualities that set me apart from others as well, that make me unique. I feel that my height is something that allows me to be different, and I take great pride in that. Everyone has that one thing that other people remember about them, and because not many women are 6’2” tall, I feel like this is mine. Everyone has something that they struggle with; I am lucky enough that I have not had to face anything that seems impossible to overcome or make me feel like less of a woman. I work very hard to be the person I am now and strive to embrace everything that I am in every aspect of my life.
