My definition of being a woman has been inspired through strong female leaders in my life that have overcome significant obstacles, made the best choices in difficult situations, and have empowered others. I was fortunately raised by an independent, hard-working and loving woman. My mother had me shortly after her 18th birthday. She fled an abusive relationship and came to Missouri to raise me and my younger brother by herself. Life was hard, we had very little, but she taught me to make the most of things, laugh A LOT, not to rely on others to make things happen for myself, and to get an education to better my future. To me, being a successful woman means doing for others, working hard, and persevering, all while keeping integrity, loving yourself, and being thankful. As a Women of Westminster, I strive to be successful. I am challenged and inspired daily by the Westminster community and thankful to be given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. I am very proud to be a W.O.W.
